 Ceit Robinson

Ceit is a registered psychotherapist and Accredited EMDR Therapist. She specialises in trauma therapy, and has a special interest in working with individuals and groups on their trauma recovery journey.

Ceit’s style is warm and relational, and she recognises that providing a safe therapeutic relationship is key to a successful therapy and trauma recovery.

Her qualifications include Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) in Psychotherapy; Masters in Counselling from Massey; Postgraduate Diploma Education (Counselling Guidance) and Diploma of Trauma Management. She has specialty training in Advanced and Group EMDR.

Ceit has been working in Kāpiti as a therapist since 2014. Before co-founding the Kāpiti EMDR & Therapy Centre, Ceit has worked as a therapist for a local women’s health collective, an NGO specializing in young people and their families, a postnatal distress service, an international online mental health platform and private practice. 

Ceit loves EMDR and the positive outcomes her clients have achieved through this therapy, and is committed to supporting clients to create change and transformation in their lives.

Ceit is registered to provide fully subsidized therapy with ACC (Sensitive Claims) for survivors of sexual trauma and is an EAP Provider for Benestar.

Outside of the therapy room, Ceit enjoys yoga, gardening and our beautiful beaches on the Coast.

Emma Sanderson

Emma has raised her children on the Kāpiti Coast and is now loving the joys of being an active Grandmother. As well as other community- based roles, she has worked as a counsellor and therapist for over 25 years.

Emma is an Accredited EMDR Therapist and Case Consultant in Training. She is ACC & PHO Registered and is an EAP Provider for Benestar. Her qualifications include; PGDipHealSc with Cred (Mental Health), PGCert Professional Supervision, PGCertHealSc (Family & Systems Therapies), Dip Arts Psychology, Dip Child & Ado Guidance Counselling, Advanced EMDR and Group EMDR (G-TEP).

Emma is experienced in working with young people and adults of all ages. She is trained in a range of counselling and psychotherapy approaches, mainly focussing on trauma recovery. As such, Emma is very excited by experiencing and witnessing the effectiveness and outcomes of EMDR therapy as an approach to trauma. Emma is consistently inspired by people’s courage to engage in therapy and make changes.

When people are working hard on tough issues, Emma has a way of bringing light and humour into her work. She provides a welcoming safe space and all she asks is that people show up ready to do the work.

Clarke Millar

Clarke is a mental health professional with 20 years of clinical practice in specialist mental health services and private practice.  Clarke offers a collaborative approach to therapy with multi-stressed individuals, co-parents and relationships – inspired by their strengths, best hopes and preferred life directions.  Respect, connection, curiosity and hope are central to his practice.     

Clarke takes an ‘anyone (and everyone) is welcome’ approach to therapy.  He offers single session consultations, brief therapy and long-term psychotherapy to individual adults and relationships.

Before joining with the Kāpiti EMDR & Therapy Centre in 2024, Clarke had been in clinical leadership roles at Te Toka Tumai (formerly Auckland District Health Board).   He worked at both Infant Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Maternal Mental Health services.  Clarke remains active in the development of more inclusive mental health services during pregnancy and early parenthood across Aotearoa New Zealand.         

Clarke is a Registered Social Worker with extensive training and experience in a range of therapeutic approaches.  Currently, he is in the process of applying for additional registration as a Psychotherapist through the Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) qualification. 

In 2014, Clarke completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.  He is a registered Circle of Security Parenting facilitator (COS-P), and a trainer of the Single Session Family Consultation (SSFC) model. 

Outside of the clinic, Clarke is most likely to be spotted at Opportunity Shops or out walking in all weathers.
